Hello. My name is Adam!

Genesis 2:7 – “And The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

Genesis 2:15 – “Then The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”

As a Chinese, I heard the story of Nu Wa, who made humans out of mud. As a Christian, I came to know the creation account through the bible. Isn’t it interesting how both accounts talk about mankind being formed out of clay?

As I molded my first clay human, I started to think of why humans are shaped the way we do. Also, why did both accounts choose to use clay as a medium?

Genesis 3:19 – “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

This is a mystery I will continue to pursue as a potter for a long time to come! In the meantime, let me tend to my garden.. :)
