As I admire the ombré colours naturally forming when the flowers started to wilt, I was struck by its changing beauty, which marks the passage of time. Ahh, how I love nature:)

  • We spent the whole of Valentine’s Day working on these cups, and finally managed to get them into our little kiln just before dinner. After a quick meal at the coffeeshop downstairs, we rushed off to settle some errands for our family. Would I have preferred a more romantic Valentine’s Day? Perhaps I would, a few years ago. But today I’m just full of joy and gratitude that we spent the whole day as a team, never leaving each other’s side. Working together, praying together, making every decision together. • Today I discover yet again that I’m in love, and that I’m loved. :) • #studioasobi #valentines #love #handmade #ceramics #sake #cups #madeinsingapore #marriage
  • Sometimes it is so much easier to work than to rest. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it is kinda true isn’t it? Especially in a fast paced society like Singapore. There is always work to be done. • We tend to take our work very seriously (and this is commendable), yet how many of us take our rest as seriously too? • I believe our human race was created for a rhythm of work and rest, and we risk grinding ourselves down to empty souls when we fail to enjoy proper rest. So here we are, on our weekly sabbath day, where we rest:) • Hope you are starting off a new week refreshed from a position of rest over the weekend! • #work #rest #sabbath #rhythm #soulcare #life #singapore #studiolife #studioasobi
  • • DROPLETS OF SPRING Blooming on a tree Water for the heart that thirsts Till I drink from you • Handcrafting these blossoming Sakura sake cups for @fatcowsg, to usher in the spring season, a time of hope and new beginnings! May we always find time to share a sip with the people we love. • 恭祝大家新年安康,出入平安! • #handmade #pottery #ceramics #madeinsg #designedinsg #haiku #sakura #sakecups #fatcow #singapore #studioasobi #cny
  • • DRENCHED See those scars inside They no longer sting, now drenched In living waters • The potter’s wheel tends to make things round and smooth. That’s often what we expect from the “wheel” of life – that our desires will be fulfilled, that we will be healthy, prosperous and reasonably successful in our endeavors. We do see the pain and suffering around us, but we try to keep them at arm’s length until one day, the inevitable happens, and we raise our fists to heaven and wonder where is God in all of this? • But God is the Potter, and we are the clay, and who are we to tell the Potter what to make out of us? Yet He has set a treasure in each of us jars of clay and drenched us in His spirit that never leaves us nor forsakes us. And so our scars are turned into beauty, and our brokenness is made whole. • #studioasobi #pottery #ceramics #陶艺 #commissioned #madeinsingapore #handmade #vase #scars #livingwater #healing
