This is a piece we have been labouring over for weeks, and this morning our hearts broke when we found it lying crumpled on the shelf, irreparably broken. But then we realized in that moment of sorrow that this piece of clay does not end here. It is not done yet. It will be immersed in water, and when it has rested sufficiently it will be brought out again, kneaded together and transformed into another object of beauty. Different, but still beautiful in the eyes of its maker. Have you, like us, ever felt broken? Even irreparably broken? At times like these we remember that God is our Potter; we are the clay. When we break, His heart breaks for us. But where we can only see the ruins of our own lives, He already sees a new and beautiful thing. If only we will let ourselves be immersed in His living water, and let Him continue His amazing work of redemption in our lives. #ceramics #broken #jeremiah #potter #clay #redemption #beauty

It is behind darkness that light shines most beautifully. This morning, sprinting our bicycles down the river to catch the sunrise, we discover a glimpse of what it must be like to be in hungry pursuit of God – in search of this beauty that is out of this world. And although the cares and worries of this life sometimes obscures the light, we know where to find it every morning – if we open our eyes early enough, if we ride hard enough. #reflections of the #morning #hungerforGod #singapore #nature

This morning during my private reflection time, a verse came to mind – “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom” from Psalm 90:12. There is equality in that we all have 24 hours a day. No more no less. If we are fortunate to be living in a free nation, without oppression or slavery or violent conflicts, it is entirely up to us to make responsible choices in how we use our time. As artists, we spend a lot of time conceptualizing and musing over what we want to create. It is often not easy, yet it is essential. But beyond making good art, being there for those who care about is even more important. Decisions, decisions! It is our prayer that we can all grow in wisdom in what we do:) After all, as Annie Dillard puts it beautifully, “how we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” Have a good day ahead! #reflections #life #psalms #time #anniedillard #art

(Ode To Bali)
