Frequently Asked Questions:
A. How do I book a session or find out the upcoming schedule?
You can simply head over to Living Clay Pottery Workshop or The Potter’s House (Spiritual Retreat) pages to find out more about the sessions and click “Book Now” button on these pages to view the upcoming schedule of available dates and number of slots. if you require any assistance, you can also email us at huiwen@studioasobi.com.
B. What do I get to create during the session?
You will be guided to create your own unique vessel using hand-building and coiling techniques. Be it a cup, bowl, or small planter, it is all up to your imagination! In addition, you will experience a short hands-on trial on the electric wheel.
C. Will I get to paint my vessels?
The colours you see on ceramic vessels are glazes, and they are applied after the clay has gone through one round of firing. You can choose from our palette of selected glaze colours and we will apply them for you after the firing.
D. When will my vessels be ready?
We will update you once they are ready for collection (approximately 3 weeks after the session). The waiting time is necessary as it is gives your clay vessel time to dry, before being glazed and fired twice. They will be food-safe after firing.
E. Does the class fee include materials costs?
The fee includes the costs of materials, glazing and firing of your hand-built vessel based on our standard sizing. For the electric wheel hands-on trial, some participants have asked to keep the small teacup that they make – if you would like that, we can glaze and fire it for you for $25. If you would like to increase the size and/or number of vessels made, do let us know in advance so that we can advise on the estimated additional costs, which would be calculated based on size/weight.
F. What is the class size?
As this is a home studio, the maximum class size will be based on the prevailing government regulations on the number of household visitors allowed per day.
G. Can I book a private session?
A minimum rate of $500 or no. of pax x workshop rate/pax would apply.
H. Do you run children classes?
Our pottery workshops are catered primarily for adults, but children are welcome to participate as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The full workshop fee would apply for every guest.
I. Can I use Skillsfuture credits for my booking?
So sorry, we do not have any tie-ups with Skillsfuture.
J. How do I reschedule or cancel my booking?
Bookings can be rescheduled or canceled anytime up to 24 hours before the session, after which the full fee would be applied.
